Why Hyderabad
Under the patronage of the Nizams, Hyderabad became one of India’s great centres of Unani medicine, and it still has government Unani colleges, hospitals and research institutes. Its hakims continue a tradition that links India to the medicine of Persia and the Arab world.
For guests from the Gulf and Central Asia, the city is easy to feel at home in: Urdu is widely spoken, halal food is everywhere, and the Old City around the Charminar is full of history.
When to go
October to February is the most pleasant. March to June is very hot, and the monsoon from July to September is moderate.
