Where homeopathy comes from

Homeopathy was developed by the German physician Samuel Hahnemann, who published its principles in the 1790s. It rests on the idea of “like with like”: a substance chosen because, in larger amounts, it produces symptoms similar to those a person describes.

Remedies are prepared through repeated dilution and shaking, a process called potentisation. A homeopath chooses a remedy for the individual after a detailed conversation, rather than for a named condition.

Homeopathy reached India in the nineteenth century and is now one of the AYUSH systems. Practitioners train for a five-and-a-half-year degree, the BHMS (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery), and register with the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) or a state board.

What a consultation is like

Homeopathic case-taking is known for being long and personal. Expect questions about your physical symptoms, sleep, appetite, temperament, what makes you feel better or worse, and your history. The first consultation often takes an hour or more.

Unlike an Ayurvedic or naturopathy stay, homeopathy is usually a series of consultations rather than a residential programme. Many guests combine it with another stay, or with a visit to Delhi NCR, and continue follow-ups by video call after they return home.

Using homeopathy responsibly

Homeopathy is complementary. It is not a substitute for diagnosis or treatment by a medical doctor, and the scientific community continues to debate how it works. Keep your own doctor informed, and never stop a prescribed medicine in favour of a remedy without that doctor’s advice.

Before you book

Bring a list of your medicines and recent reports to the consultation. If you have a serious or worsening condition, see a medical doctor first; we can help you do that through Massvaa Care Medical.

Questions guests ask

Do I need to stay at a centre for homeopathy?

Usually not. Homeopathy is mostly a series of consultations. We can arrange them in Delhi NCR or alongside another wellness stay, with follow-ups by video call.

How can I check a homeopath is registered?

Homeopaths register with the National Commission for Homoeopathy or a state board and can give you their registration number. We keep these on file for every practitioner we work with.

Can homeopathy be combined with my medical treatment in India?

Only with the knowledge of your treating doctor. Your medical coordinator and wellness concierge can share the plan between them, with your consent.
