Therapies you may meet
Warm medicated oil held in a ring of dough over the lower back (kati), knee (janu) or neck (greeva).
A warm bolus of herbal leaves, dipped in oil and pressed rhythmically over the body.
Boluses of Njavara rice cooked in milk and herbal decoction, massaged over the body.
Boluses of warmed herbal powders, applied with or without oil.
Warm oil poured continuously over the body while therapists massage — sometimes called the “king’s treatment”.
Yoga therapy and gentle exercise so that comfort carries into daily life.
Wellness and orthopaedics
These programmes are for comfort and mobility; they are not a substitute for an orthopaedic assessment. If you have a joint that may need replacement, Massvaa Care Medical can arrange an opinion from a partner hospital, and a recovery stay can follow surgery once your surgeon clears it.

Questions guests ask
Can Ayurveda replace knee replacement?
No programme should be seen as a replacement for surgery your orthopaedic surgeon recommends. We are glad to arrange a medical opinion, so you can decide with full information.
When can I have these therapies after joint surgery?
Only after your surgeon gives written clearance, usually once the wound has fully healed. Therapies avoid the operated joint unless the surgeon agrees.
