Clinical Overview & Background
Dr Ishwar Bohra is Senior Director of the joint replacement programme in orthopaedics at BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital, Rajinder Nagar, New Delhi, and also consults at Max Hospital, Dwarka.
What he treats
Knee and hip replacement, including robot-assisted joint replacement, revision of a replacement done elsewhere, and arthroscopic surgery for ligament and cartilage injury.
Robotic and conventional joint replacement
Robot-assisted replacement uses a pre-operative CT plan and a guided arm to position the implant. It is an aid to the surgeon, not a different operation, and it does not change the implant, the recovery or the rehabilitation that follows. Ask the hospital what it charges for each approach and why one is being recommended for your knee, because the two are priced differently.
Planning a joint replacement from abroad
Send recent weight-bearing X-rays of the joint on disc, any MRI, and a current medication list including blood thinners and diabetes medication. The hospital will give its own estimate of the inpatient stay and the physiotherapy period that follows, which usually matters more to your travel dates than the surgery itself. Confirm the implant make and model in writing before you agree to a quote: implant choice is the largest single variable in a joint replacement bill.
How Massvaa Care helps
We send your reports to the hospital, return the consultant's written opinion and an itemised estimate on hospital letterhead, and coordinate the visa invitation, arrival and accommodation. We do not give medical opinions and we do not take a share of your treatment cost. You pay the hospital directly.
Consultation slots and operating dates are set by the hospital, not by us. Ask the treating team directly about its own case volumes and expected outcomes for your condition: those are answers only the hospital can give.
